At my age of 19 my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. I remember being shocked as if that could have never happened to my mom. Well it did. In our family we have a maternal and paternal female history of breast cancer. When I first processed the news about my mother I started studying the causes and effects of the cancer. I was in shock to believe (at that age) that diet, stress, enviorment and loss could directly make one suffer and eventually be diagnosed with cancer.
I have since that very moment decided to study ways to combat all the above. When I was studying theatre at New York University I began taking extra curricular courses in breathing and meditation. Taking these courses were the beginning of a ongoing study of nutrition, stress relief, yoga and overall wellness. Manhattan was a fantastic location to explore all these new concepts for me and create a healthier version of myself. I changed my diet to become a vegetarian and became certified in nutritional health. I also continued on to complete a Vippassana mediation course, pilates mat and Ashtanga Yoga certification.
Here are some facts for all of you to consider according to US breast cancer statisitcs:

Being able to participate and be an ambassador for the Dragon Boat Festival this July 3-8, 2018 summer in Florence, Italy I hope to be able to share my knowledge of health and wellness in healing and preventing breast cancer.
I believe that if we treat our bodies like temples they will stay healthy and free of disease.
